Division History
Imagine attempting to do an intricate dance with a group of dancers at The Dance Worlds. Now imagine trying to do that dance holding on to a pom in each hand, never dropping it, and utilizing it to enhance the visual effect and theme of your routine.
Welcome to the wonderful world of competitive Pom!
It is a style of dance that requires impeccable technique, speed, choreography, and transitions. The dance teams in the pom division emphasize synchronized motions and you can tell that you’re watching a championship Pom routine when the dozens of poms on the stage look as though they’re moving in perfect unison.
The choreography of these teams is exemplary, and they do not lack speed or technique! There will be a number of teams competing in the Senior Small and Senior Large Pom divisions at The Dance Worlds 2022, so get ready for all of the fun and exciting pom action!
In 2021, Dance Mania swept the Senior Pom divisions taking gold in both Senior Small and Senior Large Pom. Cheers Factory, from Japan, previously dominated the Senior Small Pom division with their four-peat from 2019 to 2016.
This year, 43 teams have earned a Bid to compete at The Dance Worlds in the Senior Pom divisions. 28 teams will battle for the Senior Small Pom title while 15 teams dance for gold in Senior Large Pom.

Senior Small Pom
GOLD: Dance Mania
Final Score: 95.18
Dance Mania took home gold in the Senior Small Pom competition with a 95.18 for the first time since their first win in 2010! The Florida-based team depicted fierce warriors with their Senior Small Pom routine.
Dance Mania also earned another gold last year in the Senior Small Jazz division!
This season, the team put together an amazing routine and earned a bid to The Dance Worlds 2022 with their strong performance at the UDA National Dance Team Championship. The team will be back on stage at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in hopes of going back-to-back in this competitive division of 28 teams!
SILVER: South Coast Freestyle - "Temperature"
Final Score: 94.46
South Coast Freestyle is a powerhouse program from the west coast and they took home the Senior Small Pom silver medals with a final score of 94.46. South Coast Freestyle had a Temperature themed routine in 2021 and their costumes featured icy blue colors on the front and firey red materials on their back. The two-toned costume really added to the visuals of their choreography, especially during their elite jump sequence and their turns!
This year at the 2022 JAMfest Dance Super Nationals the team earned their At-Large Bid back to The Dance Worlds 2022!
BRONZE: Energizers
Final Score: 94.06
Taking the final spot on the podium was the Energizers scoring a 94.06 to earn the Senior Small Pom bronze medals. The Energizers are known for their clever themes that are perfectly executed through music, costuming, and staging. In 2021, the Energizers took inspiration from Nike to create their crowd-engaging Senior Small Pom routine.
The Wisconsin powerhouse previously won the competitive division in 2015, 2013, and 2009.

Senior Large Pom
GOLD: Dance Mania
Final Score: 94.92
Dance Mania was on a roll in 2021 as they took home their third set of gold medals from The Dance Worlds, this time in the Senior Large Pom division!
Dance Mania wowed everyone at The Dance Worlds scoring a 94.92 and securing the top spot in both Senior Pom divisions. This season, the team put together an amazing routine and earned a Bid to The Dance Worlds 2022 with their powerful performance at the UDA National Dance Team Championship.
The team will be back on stage at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in hopes of going back-to-back in this competitive division of 15 teams!
SILVER: Champion Legacy
Final Score: 92.52
Heading into 2021, Champion Legacy was the reigning Senior Large Pom World Champions holding two gold globes from their back-to-back wins in 2019 and 2018. The South Dakota team really got creative with their staging in 2021 and their neon poms helped create some fun visuals which earned them a final score of 92.52 and the silver medals!

BRONZE: Dance Dynamics
Final Score: 92.24
Securing the bronze medals was Dance Dynamics with a final score of 92.24. You'll see Dance Dynamics back in Florida after earning a Partial-Paid Bid at the 2022 NDA All-Star National Championship!

WSF Louisville Grand National
Senior Small Pom: Energizers
The Energizers wowed the judges with their action-packed Senior Small Pom routine taking the top spot at WSF!
The Rainbow Dance Academy took second in the division followed by Starz Dance Academy in third.
Senior Large Pom: Energizers
It was a Senior Pom sweep for the Hartford, Wisconsin studio as the Energizers finished the weekend on top in both the Senior Small & Senior Large Pom divisions at the 2022 WSF Louisville Grand Nationals.
Starz Dance Academy finished second in the division followed by Star Performance Centre in third.
NDA All-Star National Championship
Senior Small Pom: Xtreme Dance - Rock
Fans got a good look at what we will be seeing at The Dance Worlds in just a few weeks. Xtreme Dance topped the Senior Small Pom division with a crowd-engaging routine that was full of fun music, big energy, and eye-catching tricks.
Senior Large Pom: Dance Dynamics
Dance Dynamics topped the Senior Large Pom competition at NDA All-Star and earned their Partial Paid Bid to The Dance Worlds 2022 with a final score of 94.08. Their performance was just as vibrant as their red costumes and we can't wait to see what this Texas team has in store for us as they take the stage this April!
JAMfest Dance Super Nationals
Senior Small Pom: Dance Mania
At the 2022 JAMfest Dance Super Nationals in Kentucky, fans got a good look at what we will be seeing at The Dance Worlds in just a few weeks. Dance Mania topped the Senior Small Pom competition with a final score of 93.2438. Foursis Dance Academy took second in the division followed by Adrenaline Studio SPARK in third.
Senior Large Pom: Dance Mania
Dance Mania is proving they are ready to defend their current titles this season at The Dance Worlds. Dance Mania also topped the Senior Large Pom competition with a final score of 94.38.
Foursis Dance Academy took second in the Senior Large Pom division followed by Starz Dance Academy in third.
Semi-Finals for the Senior Small Pom division will take place on April 23rd followed by Finals on Sunday, April 24th. The Semi-Finals for the Senior Large Pom division will begin on April 24th with Finals concluding on Monday, April 25th. Who will take home the Senior Small and Senior Large Pom titles in 2022?
