Who Will Bring Home The Senior Small and Large Contemporary/Lyrical Title?

The Dance Worlds is respectively the most anticipated event of the season. With the first cancellation of The Dance Worlds since the inaugural championship in 2007, The Dance Worlds 2021 has been long-awaited. Although you’ve been following your favorite teams throughout the year, anything can happen when this division finally takes the Worlds floor!

FloCheer is going to break down all the divisions so that you will know what to expect in Orlando, Florida starting with Senior Small and Large Contemporary/Lyrical.

Senior Small Contemporary/Lyrical


Division History

In 2020, the Small Contemporary/Lyrical teams were set to take the floor at The Dance World Championship with hopes of making it onto the podium. Unfortunately, no teams saw the podium then, but in 2019 Dancers Edge Studio Senior Small Contemporary took the crown.

Just one year later teams are finally heading to Orlando to battle it out for a spot on the podium.

GOLD: The Dancer Edge Studio

In 2019, The Dancers Edge Studio became the Senior Small Contemporary/Lyrical World Champions. They earned the coveted world championship title with beautiful movement covering the entire floor and a turn section utilizing the entire team so good you have to see!

SILVER: Dancin Bluebonnets 

The Dancin Bluebonnets finished strong in second place in 2019. This small team opened their routine showcasing extraordinary strength and flexibility. These Bluebonnets performed impressive choreography with highly executed leaps from the entire squad. The caliber of difficulty executed made The Dancin Bluebonnets a clear champion for the silver medals.

BRONZE: Star Steppers  

Star Steppers Senior Small Contemporary took home the bronze medals in 2019 after being strong contenders throughout the competition. Star Steppers’ ability to bring beauty and technique to the floor from start to finish earned them a spot on the podium at Worlds.

Season Recap


Here’s a look back at some of the winners from the Senior Small Contemporary/Lyrical division from this season's major events! Will these teams medal at The Dance Worlds 2021? We can’t wait to watch these incredible teams take the Worlds floor!

This season, 8 teams took on NDA All-Star Nationals in the Senior Small Contemporary/Lyrical division and some front-runners are emerging.

NDA All-Star Nationals 2021

Dancing Bluebonnets Senior Small Contemporary

Fans got a good look at what we will be seeing at The Dance Worlds in just a few weeks. Bluebonnets topped the division with a final score of 95.5. In 2019 this team scored a 93.2 to take home the silver medals from The Dance World Championship. This season, with some wins under their belt, this is definitely a team to watch!

Music City All Stars took second at NDA with a 93.5 followed by Dance Fusion with a 92.4 in third.


Senior Large Contemporary/Lyrical


Division History

In 2020 the Large Contemporary/Lyrical teams were set to take the floor at The Dance World Championship with hopes of making it onto the podium. Unfortunately, no teams saw the podium then, but in 2019 Dancers Edge Studio Senior Large Contemporary took the crown. Dancers Edge Studio won both the small and large division in 2019. 

Just one year later teams are finally heading to Orlando to make their way on the podium at The 2021 Dance Worlds.

GOLD: The Dancer Edge Studio 

In 2019, The Dancers Edge Studio won the Senior Large Contemporary/Lyrical division and were named World Champions. They earned this title becauseof their strong routine featuring beautiful turns and amazing high-paced choreography.

SILVER: Dance Dynamics

Dance Dynamics finished strong in second place in 2019. This senior contemporary team took the floor showcasing beautiful costuming. In the midst of their routine Dance Dynamic revealed a costume change that added excitement to their routine!

. The caliber of difficulty executed made Dance Dynamics a clear champion for the silver medal.

BRONZE: The Vision Dance Center

The Vision Dance Center took home the bronze medal in 2019 after being strong contenders throughout the competition. The Vision Dance Centers heartfelt routine earned them a spot on the podium at Worlds.

Star Steppers 

Fans got a good look at what we will be seeing at The Dance Worlds in just a few weeks. Star Steppers topped the division with a final score of 94.4. In 2019 this team took home fifth place from The Dance Worlds. This season, with a major win under their belt, Star Steppers are ready to bring home gold! 

Dance Dynamics took second at NDA with a 93.8 followed by Dancin Bluebonnets with a 93.6 in third. The competition is close in this division, who will take home the coveted globe?
